Principal’s Message

Greetings everyone, I am Principal Wu Kwok Chu. FLPY is the sole high-quality primary school in Tuen Mun District of School Net 71 that is affiliated with the Po Leung Kuk organization. Our school has been awarded the Po Leung Kuk Outstanding School Award twice. Our school boasts an impressive track record in securing primary six promotion places. This achievement is attributed to the exceptional academic standards of our students, as well as our affiliation with two renowned Po Leung Kuk secondary schools in the district, namely Po Leung Kuk Centenary Li Shiu Chung Memorial College and Po Leung Kuk Tang Yuk Tien College.

We place utmost importance on instilling positive values in our students and are dedicated to nurturing their 21st-century core 6C abilities, encompassing communication, collaboration, creativity and problem-solving, critical thinking, character, and citizenship. To meet the specific learning needs of our students and align with the distinctive traits of our school, we actively promote initiatives such as the “Innovative Expert Training Scheme (IETS)” and “School-based Astronomy Curriculum.” Furthermore, we allocate considerable resources to ensure seamless coordination with the ongoing curriculum development.

In the current academic year, we have established the “Innovation and Technology Application Centre” and “Astronomy Park”. These cutting-edge facilities are equipped with advanced scientific and technological equipment as well as astronomical instruments. They provide our students with enhanced opportunities to engage in a diverse range of learning activities, encouraging them to explore, discover, and unleash their creativity while stimulating their interest and expanding their potential.

The holistic well-being of our students, both physically and mentally, remains a paramount concern for us. We have implemented positive education and healthy school policies to address these aspects. This year, we have diligently collected parents’ feedback and conducted comprehensive reviews of various administrative arrangements. As of the upcoming academic year 24/25, we will introduce revised assignment and assessment policies, including optimizing the quantity and quality of school assignments and replacing the Primary One examination with diversified formative assessments.

In the new school year, students’ timetables will include remedial sessions and flexible learning activities every afternoon, fostering an environment of joyful learning. With over 50 extracurricular activities catered to students’ diverse interests and potential, we strive to provide each student with a platform to showcase their talents through our three-tiered structure of gifted education. The remarkable achievements of our students in disciplines such as fencing, Latin dance, innovation and technology competitions exemplify the success of our approach.

Our school’s aspiration is to let every FLPY student experience a delightful school life. By fostering collaboration between the school and parents, we aim to establish a positive and flourishing environment for the benefit of our future generations.
