* Features of the school-based English Language Curriculum *

To enriching the School-based English Language Curriculum at the Primary Level, we
implement the Primary Literacy Programme –Reading and Writing (PLP-R/W) and the
Development of Text Sets (DTS) Project in the junior form in which the lessons are
conducted by a native English speaking teacher, a local English language teacher and
a classroom assistant. Using diverse, multi-modal and multi-genre texts of high quality
on selected themes, we aim to enhance students’ literacy development and to provide
students with opportunities and to develop and apply a range of language and generic
skills including reading, writing, listening, speaking and critical thinking.
For the upper primary classes, we implement Supported Reading in the Reading Workshops
to further enhance students’ English literacy development.
